PGC…My Summer Bucket List

FullSizeRender (26)

This week, the Planner Girls Collective have been asked to show our Summer Bucket Lists. Out of all the four seasons, Summer is my least favourite. I’m not a hot weather person, I get annoyed when it’s too warm to be productive and the heat makes me tired.

With that in mind, I’ve constructed a list with some Summer related activities and some things I want to do that just happen to fall into the next two months.

Let’s get to it:

  1. Beer Garden
It wouldn’t be the British summer time if you didn’t visit a pub beer garden at least once. Ideally child-free with friends or my other half.
  2. Visit Edinburgh
My Grandparents live in Edinburgh and as they are getting older, I try to go up to with the family to see them whenever I can. This year we’ve managed to organise a trip at the same time as the Edinburgh Festival! I’m not sure how much I will get to see, most likely the street performances instead of evening comedy gigs but I’m looking forward to it. As well as that I love Edinburgh as a city and turn into a real tourist every time I go. Well, depending on how much my Gran will let me because she refuses to pay or allow any one else in company to pay for what she deems expensive.
  3. Trip to Corby
This is my hometown. I have a lot of family and some close friends there. I try to go to Corby at least three times a year. Family is very important to me so meeting up as much as physically possible is a must.
  4. Take George to the Cinema
Despicable Me 3 has just come out. George (my eldest at 5) loves these films, he adores the minions. He’s yet to go to a cinema, mainly because it took until reaching this age for him to sit through a whole film!
  5. Take Scarlett Swimming
Scarlett is my youngest (2). She a little water baby and has no fear in swimming pools. This is something I want to keep going with as confidence in water is really important to me. Obviously I will be in the pool with her, holding her!
  6. Make a Pocket Journal
This is a new workshop I’ve signed up to with Rae Missigman and Sandi Keen. They teach you how to make small notebooks with their art styles. I love the finished look and the bursts of colour. Rae then runs a 30 day mark making challenge that I will carry out in my finished notebook.
  7. Continue Vintage Junk Journal
As the title suggests, I’m working on a vintage style junk journal. The whole thing has been made from scratch. More on that later!
  8. Release another Creative Kit
I recently released a new kit on my shop. I do have plans for a brand new one in Autumn but before that I’m debating turning some old sticker artwork into a kit. This is artwork that I have created and it would work really well as a kit.
  9. Organise more hours in work
An example of goals. I’ve started to settle well into my position at Vets4Pets (yes, I also have a day job) and feel the time has come to ask for a few more hours. Still be part time but that little bit more money and experience will go a long way.
  10. Finish Grade 3 Piano
I learnt the piano when I was younger and got up to grade 5. Unfortunately I forgot a lot of it and have since learnt that they way I was taught, although it got me through my grades, it didn’t really teach musical knowledge. I now have a new found love for the piano and music in general.
  11. Write at least 4 book reviews
This is something I’ve wanted to do for ages! Reading is a passion of mine and I want to introduce a book section to my blog. I have started this process so it’s only a matter of time.
  12. Develop painting and drawing skills
With being on Anna’s Patreon creative team and writing for the Dream Create Journal blog, I want to learn more techniques for my art. I love to learn new things and share my experiences.
  13. Visit Bekki and Jenny
I met these two crazy ladies in University. We lived together and have gone through so much over the years. We’ve basically grown from awkward early adults into who we are today (less awkward, still very weird). They are the kind of friends who you will not see for months, in fact it’s been well over a year since I last saw Jenny. However, when we meet up, it’s like we’ve never been apart!
  14. Good old clear out of the Children’s bedroom
Another goal. I don’t know what they do in there but that room has so many little toys and bits everywhere! There are clothes they’ve outgrown, books that have migrated upstairs from the bookshelf, shoes that no longer fit, cat toys (??!!), fridge magnets, things I used to have and can no longer find. Their room is a black hole! We currently have a two bed so whilst they’re young, George and Scarlett share. It works well, when Scarlett moved into there from our room, George said he was happy as he wouldn’t be alone anymore.
  15. Kitchen clear out
It needs doing. The time has come when you have spices long forgotten at the back of the cupboard, cups with broken handles that you couldn’t bare to part with, baby bottles that we don’t need, various types of tea….the list goes on. It was organised and we used it as a family for a few months and now it’s time for a tidy!

So that’s my list. Like I say not particularly summery but it works for me as it’s productive with some activities.

What are you all up to this summer?

Thanks for stopping by,

Kelly.
